AP FACT CHECK: Trump stunning group’s batch of counterfeit vote claims
Despite a lack of evidence of popular irregularities or fraud, President Donald Trump’s stunning group passe a Thursday press convention to war thru a laundry list of far-fetched, totally debunked claims on the 2020 election.
Trump lawyer Sidney Powell spun fictional tales of election programs flipping votes, German servers storing U.S. voting knowledge and election utility created in Venezuela “at the direction of Hugo Chavez” — the dull Venezuelan president who died in 2013. She also mentioned Trump beat Democrat Joe Biden “by a landslide,” which he decidedly didn’t — Biden used to be the sure winner.
A leer at the claims and fact:
POWELL: “The Dominion Voting Systems, the Smartmatic technology utility, and the utility that goes in diversified computerized voting programs here as nicely, no longer factual Dominion, had been created in Venezuela at the direction of Hugo Chavez to substantiate he never lost an election after one constitutional referendum came out the manner he didn’t desire it to strategy lend a hand out.”
THE FACTS: No, Dominion doesn’t enjoy any ties to Venezuela, nor does it enjoy a partnership with Smartmatic, per Eddie Perez, a voting technology expert at the OSET Institute, a nonpartisan election technology overview and vogue nonprofit.

POWELL, on reports that a U.S. voting server is in Germany: “That is exact, it’s by hook or by crook linked to this but I attain no longer know whether factual guys got it or substandard guys got it.”
THE FACTS: No, it’s no longer exact. Powell is referencing a fictitious account that a server info superhighway web hosting evidence of voting irregularities within the Nov. 3 U.S. election used to be in Germany.
