NNPC refutes reviews of bribe to NANS, funding of vote shopping in Ondo •Considers precise action in opposition to Sahara Newshounds, Nairaland
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company has refuted reviews in a share of the media alleging that it paid bribe to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and offered funds for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to recall votes in the honest concluded Ondo Converse gubernatorial election.
In a statement by the Group Overall Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru, the Company described the reviews as naughty and contrived allegations, with none substance genuinely, ostensibly designed to wait on the selfish ends of their sponsors to bring NNPC to disrepute and tarnish the Company’s represent.
On the alleged bribe or Covid-19 palliative to NANS printed by Saharareporters, NNPC confirmed that it obtained a letter dated April 22, 2020, from NANS signed by one Comrade Danielson Akpan, inquiring for for financial beef up to allow the affiliation provide palliatives to varsity students who were stranded at diverse colleges at some stage in the lockdown, a quiz the Company couldn’t honour as a result of the abnormal conditions and financial constraints thrown up by the world oil market meltdown.
Concerning the allegation of providing funds to beef up a political event, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in shopping votes at some stage in the Ondo Converse gubernatorial election printed by Nairaland, the Company explained that the NNPC is owned by the Federation and certainly, all Nigerians, hence, it is non-partisan and would not lift in sponsorship of political events or causes.

It also entreated contributors of the final public to discountenance the reviews, stressing that they were a crass show conceal of unprofessionalism with predetermined conclusions geared toward serving the selfish purposes of their sponsors.
